$40M Factory to Create 200 New Jobs
A $40 MILLION investment is expected to create about 200 direct and indirect job opportunities once in operation.
The board of directors of FMF Foods Ltd yesterday announced the commencement of construction of its new biscuit factory at Veisari, Lami.
Company managing director Ram Bajekal said production in the new plant was expected to start towards the end of this year.
He said operation of the new factory would be by Bakery Company (Fiji) Ltd, which was a 100 per cent subsidiary of FMF Foods Ltd.
A statement issued by the company through the South Pacific Stock Exchange said the necessary financial arrangements for the facility had been approved and orders for machinery and equipment had been placed by the company.
According to the statement the new facility would make biscuits for the export markets.
